There are two types of people in the world--those who like electric pencil sharpeners and those who like manual ones. I am firmly in the manual camp. They just seem to produce a better point and have more lasting power. That said, I think I have found a practically perfect manual pencil sharpener. Behold the Classroom Friendly Pencil Sharpener.

The genius behind this nifty tool is Troy Decoff, teacher and owner of Classroom Friendly Supplies. Leave it to a teacher to build a better pencil sharpener! I got mine in the mail today and couldn't wait to give it a try. It's kind of space age looking, and there's even a video to show exactly how to use it. Basically, you pull out the front piece, insert the pencil, and crank. The front piece pulls the pencil into the sharpening unit as you crank. Very cool! And it produces a great point.
Want one of your own now? Well, as luck would have it, I have a giveaway for you!! What are you waiting for? :)
